Maaliskuussa 2024 palasimme La Banderaan, kuuluisalle Tarrazun alueelle Costa Ricassa. Tapasimme Diego Hidalgon hänen kauniilla tilallaan, joka sijaitsee korkealla vehreällä vuorenrinteellä. Auringossa kuivuvan kahvin rikas aromi oli tunnistettavissa jo kaukaa. Diego on ylpeä huolellisesta kahvin prosessoinnista ja kuivauksesta, ja hän tuottaa jännittävän valikoiman makuja. Toinen erämme tälle kaudelle La Banderasta on tämä erinomainen suodatinterä.

I brewed this as a pour-over this morning and the natural process really shines through — it’s sweet and clean, no bitterness even as it cools. The Catuai varietal from that high Tarrazu altitude gives it a depth I haven’t found in cheaper bags.

The natural process on this Catuai really shines through at 1950 meters—I've brewed a few cups as filter and each one has that clean, fruity brightness Tarrazu is known for. Diego Hidalgo's lot arrived with a roast that's dialed in perfectly for pour-over.
