The dos Santos family have deep roots across the mountain range of Caconde, producing coffee for over 40 years. This season, our Red Bourbon lot is sweetly flavoured with notes of vanilla and chocolate.
The vanilla and chocolate notes really come through in every sip, especially once the coffee cools a bit. I’ve been brewing it in my pour-over and the sweetness lingers nicely on the finish. Even my partner, who usually adds sugar, drank it black.
This is my third bag from this harvest and the chocolate note is just as rich as the first. The beans are so consistent, every cup has that same smooth, sweet finish.
The vanilla note comes through so clearly in the first sip, and the chocolate finish lingers just long enough to make you want another cup. Forty years of family history really shows in the depth of this Red Bourbon lot.
